The Application of Compressed Air in The Painting Industry

Compressed air is an important power resource required for production workshops in the painting industry, mainly used for conveying coatings, atomizing coatings, driving pneumatic tools to dry moisture and dust, driving pneumatic valves, and other functions. If impurities such as oil stains and particles are mixed in the spraying gas pipeline, it can cause appearance quality problems such as particles and shrinkage holes on the spraying surface paint film, and also cause equipment damage and shorten the service life of the equipment.

At present, the automotive industry has relatively high requirements for the appearance and surface. The entire production spraying production line requires that the compressed air delivery must be free of particles, oil stains, and moisture. This requires us to consider the control of the entire compressed air quality in equipment selection and gas pipeline design.

1、Design of compressed air pipeline distribution

To ensure the efficiency of blowing compressed air pipelines in the spraying workshop, it is necessary to divide all compressed air pipelines in the spraying workshop into regions for centralized blowing in each area. The spray painting workshop is divided into 7 areas: spray painting area, minor repair area, ED polishing terminal inspection and submission area, pre-treatment electrophoresis area, wax spraying and baking room area, and air conditioning area.

Classify all line branch pipes into process gas and equipment gas points.

The process gas mainly includes: paint mixing station, spray painting station (spray gun usage point), blow cleaning station, polishing station (pneumatic polishing machine usage point), gluing station (glue gun usage point), polishing station (pneumatic polishing machine usage point), etc. The equipment gas mainly includes: topcoat line body, manual spray gun usage point.

Count the number of branch pipelines in each area and level on the drawing, and record it after checking with the workshop site. The design must take into account the use of two types of compressed air, process air and equipment air, in the entire production workshop. Not only should the position of the workstation be suitable for use, but the amount of compressed air used and the pressure of the end gas supply should also meet the usage requirements.

2、System blowing before installation of compressed air system

Before starting the blowing work, identify the number of valves that need to be cleaned, prepare a detailed cleaning record checklist, and clean the valves installed on the compressed air pipeline. After the cleaning is completed, notify a third party to confirm the cleaning results. After passing the inspection, proceed with installation.

3、Pipeline numbering and naming

To ensure thorough cleaning of pipelines, it is necessary to number and name the pipelines, and clean them one by one. The main and branch pipes of compressed air on the same floor can be classified and named separately.

The branch road and the main road are not on the same floor, named after the branch road. The main road is labeled with A and the branch road is labeled with B, and named separately.
